The team you will join:

The role of the Platform Product Group is to seek to understand the needs of our clients which include retail, workplace and brokerage clients. To do this we work closely with regulators, investment, technology and our teams distributing to clients to develop and maintain market leading, competitive products which are fit for purpose, and helps us to differentiate Fidelity International in a competitive market. This means the Platform Product Group drives change to ensure Fidelity is the first choice for customers, employers and advisers when considering where to invest their or their clients’/employees’ money. This team will help a new apprentice to gain a strong grounding in financial services and to develop a fundamental understanding of retail investment products and the evolving needs of our clients.

 

What you’ll be doing:

We don’t expect you to come straight in and know everything about what we do.

As an apprentice, and whatever you’ve studied, we’ll help make sure you get the most out of your time with us.

During your apprenticeship, you may rotate across 5 different teams:

  • Retail Products
    • The Retail Products Team manage the product strategy and governance for our retail products which include Individual Savings Accounts (ISAs), Self Invested Personal Pensions (SIPPs) and our General Investment Account.
  • Brokerage Products
    • The Brokerage Products Team manage the product strategy so support the capability to buy and sell shares traded on the London Stock Exchange
  • Rapid Product Development
    • The Rapid Product Development Team develop market leading products working with innovative technology and market experts.
  • Pension Products
    • The Pension Products Team complete Horizon Scanning (working with our regulators to understand new rules coming into force and lobby to ensure we achieve the correct outcome for our pension customers. The Pension Product also support our channel selling workplace pensions to employers, developing pension products to support regulation and enhancements.
  • WPFH Tools
    • The Tools Team support all investment tools (e.g. an tool to search for an investment fund) used by customers on our websites, both in the UK as well as globally. The team maintain, develop and provide governance to ensure all tools on our website are consistent and to the same high standard.

 

How you’ll be supported:

Over your two-year apprenticeship programme, you will be based in our Surrey offices, where you’ll not only learn how our product and platform teams contribute to ensuring we meet our clients needs, but also build your knowledge of the wider business.

You’ll start your apprenticeship with a mini induction during which we’ll introduce you to investment management and how it fits into the City. After that, there are many more ways to develop your skills as your apprenticeship progresses.

At every stage, your development will be underpinned by the best apprenticeship training and professional certified courses.

Unlike other firms that hire on a volume basis, we take on a select number of apprentices. You will be highly valued here, so your development is heavily invested in from day one.

Social and networking events will help you get to know our people and culture. All the while you’ll be learning on the job, working to clear goals and understanding your own potential.

As a minimum requirement you’ll need to:

  • GCSE Grade 4 or above in English and Maths
  • You do not need a Further Education qualification (A Levels, BTEC, IB etc.) for this role
  • Be available to join us in September 2023
  • Have good computer skills (knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point preferred)
  • Lived in the UK for the past 3 years as of September 2023
  • Have the Right to Work in the UK
