Department Description

Fidelity operates a centralised dealing desk, managing equity order flow and information across the European, UK, Emerging Markets and Americas regions. The desk trades equity and equity linked products including derivatives, futures and ETFs. The trading desk is responsible for providing fund managers with value-added market insight in order to assist them in positioning/managing their portfolios.

The Trading internship programme is the newest of our early career offerings. This unique opportunity will enable you to gain exposure to global markets, investment teams and banks.

Who we look for

One of the great features of this programme is that you do not have to have trading experience to apply; we will give you all the tools necessary to be successful. Obviously a keen interest in financial markets is essential as well as strong numerical and analytical capabilities. We are looking for intelligent, out- going, quick-thinking individuals who have the desire to learn and are not afraid to work hard.

We hire people from all degree disciplines. However, you must have earned or be on track for a 2:1 (or equivalent) and have high grades at A-level (or equivalent). We know we can teach you the trading techniques: what we really want to see is drive, confidence, evidence of independent thinking and the ability to communicate, negotiate and articulate your ideas to people inside and outside the business.
