2023 Y10-13 Summer Insight Day - 02 August - London

All Business Areas

Who we are:

We’ve been helping clients plan and invest for their futures for over 50 years. From more than 25 locations around the world, we provide investment services and retirement expertise to everyone from central banks to private individuals.

We’re known for acting with integrity and thinking for the long-term. And across our organisation, we foster a welcoming, caring, and inclusive culture where people feel respected, trusted, and able to be themselves.

The programme you’ll join:

At Fidelity International, we see student talent as a vital part of the future of our business, and we feel proud to offer a range of Early Careers opportunities from apprenticeships to graduate schemes. Our UK Work Experience programme offers students a chance to discover the wide range of career opportunities on offer in a financial services firm!

This event is open to Year 10-13 students looking to gain a broad understanding of what we do as they begin thinking about their future career ambitions.

What you’ll be doing:

This event will be taking place on Wednesday 02 August. It will be face to face at our 4 Cannon Street office in London, and you will be expected to be on site for the day.

During the day, you’ll get an introduction to a range of business functions at Fidelity, learn more about our industry-leading work and gain insights into our Early Careers programmes. You’ll have the opportunity to meet with colleagues at Fidelity, including managers, recruiters, and graduates.  You’ll also receive application hints and tips, to maximise your employability skills.

This is a great way for you to learn about the industry and the variety of opportunities available to you!

What we look for:

Places on our Insight Day are open to students studying all subjects at secondary education level. If you’re inquisitive and ambitious, this could be a great opportunity for you.

All we ask is that you are hold the Right to Work in the UK, and are a current secondary school student in the UK, in Years 10-12. You also should be on track for, or have achieved, a 4+ in GCSE English and Maths. You also must have not taken part in any other 2023 Fidelity Early Careers programme, for example our February Sixth Form Insight days.

How you’ll be supported:

You'll need to be available to join us on the day at our 4 Cannon Street office. You need to be able to transport yourself to the site and back independently - however, we will contribute towards travel expenses for those travelling independently via public transport, as well as food and refreshments. More details will be given to successful candidates upon acceptance of an offer.

The approximate timings will be 10.00-16.00, to be confirmed closer to the event.

Please note: We also offer a one-week work experience programme at our Kingswood Fields office in Surrey, which is open for applications now. It will take place from 10-14 July inclusive, and Y10-12 students are eligible to apply. Year 13 students are not eligible for this programme. You can only apply for one programme each year, so please consider carefully which programme is the right one for you. Applications for our Surrey work experience week can be found here, the deadline is 08 May at 11.55pm BST.

How to Apply

Feeling inspired to start your journey with us? Please submit your application online, by Monday 8 May at 11.55pm BST. The initial application form requires a CV, but you do not need to answer any essay questions or provide a cover letter.

You will also need to ensure you have time to complete our Explore Fidelity assessment by this deadline, which takes approximately 40 minutes. If you have not completed the online assessment by Monday 8 May at 11.55pm BST, we will not be able to consider your application. We encourage you to leave yourself plenty of time and apply early.

You are encouraged to prepare by researching Fidelity International. Our recruitment process is strengths-based, and so the Cappfinity global hub may be a useful resource during your preparation.

Successful applicants will receive an invitation to confirm their place. There is no interview.

For any questions, you can reach us at earlycareersatfidelity@fil.com. The inbox is not monitored on public holidays or weekends.
