Business - Sales & Marketing Summer Intern - Korea
Overview of the programme
Business with main focus on sales and marketing excellence is essential to the continuing growth of our business. These are the teams that develop new investment products, tell clients about them and manage relationships to make sure the right clients choose the right products. It’s a varied and fascinating part of Fidelity International to explore as an intern.
What you'll be doing
This is a big opportunity to build your knowledge on products, institutional sales channel, marketing or customer services in this internship. We will assign you to one of the business departments where you will spend from eight to ten weeks.
There will be exciting client work to get to grips with. You will be given great opportunities to develop your interpersonal skills through participating in cross functional projects. Rest assured, you’ll return to university with an international perspective on investment sales and marketing that will set you up for life.
Interns will be assigned to one of the following departments: Institutional Business, Marketing or Wholesale Business. Please refer to the below key responsibilities in each of the departments.
Institutional Business
Reporting into: Senior Manager, Korea Institutional Business
Key responsibilities of the intern:
- Provide overall sales & service support for new business opportunities and existing client mandates in Korea
- Assist with the preparation and production of relevant client materials, including sales presentations, pitch books, due diligence materials, regular product and performance updates, ad hoc market updates, etc.
- Work closely with the entire Institutional sales team to ensure they are fully prepared to interact with clients and promote Fidelity funds
- Assist the team in preparation for various client events
- Manage the evolving and frequently changing client contact database
- Maintain and update sales databases (e.g., Salesforce) and other relevant sources to produce updated and accuracy pipeline and related sales reports
- Provide administrative support, including managing & coordinating the team’s diary, setting up internal and client meetings, coordinating the logistics of client events, answering client enquiries, printing and binding of client materials and ordering collateral and stationary
- Interact with other business units to ensure the Institutional Sales team is able to operate at the peak of efficiency at all time (Marketing, Finance, Operations, etc.)
Marketing
Reporting into: Head of Marketing, Korea
Key responsibilities of the intern:
- Development and design of events in an effect way of clients/investors communication
- Research success stories of IFA in major countries and how Fidelity Korea can take advantage of IFA introduction
- Design of investor friendly marketing collaterals for effective message delivery
- Research digital marketing tools by different group of target client
- News monitoring
- Market report translation
Wholesale Business
Reporting into: Wholesale Associate Director, Korea Wholesale Business
Key responsibilities of the intern:
- Understanding and preparing market and product details
- Market & sales data gathering for preparing internal as well as external materials
- Training for sales skills
- Participating in branch seminars with sales teams
- Supporting email communication with clients by sending Fidelity market comments and other materials on a regular basis
- Creating and updating marketing materials for client’s requests
What we look for
You’ll need to be able to build ties with people from a range of business cultures and backgrounds. Confident and articulate, you’ll also have good analytical skills. Above all you’ll be ready to soak up new sales and marketing ideas and concepts and take on whatever responsibility comes your way.
Skills and requirements
- Student in the penultimate year of undergraduate or master’s programme
- Strong interest in financial services industry
- Good academic performance
- Initiative and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent level of communication / presentation skills
- Proficiency in English and Korean is a must
- Excellent computer skills
